UEFA's Double Standards at Euro 2012

UEFA, the governing body of football in Europe has been rightly accused of using double standards. And more importantly, become ever more like FIFA, the world’s governing body of football which has been criticized for various reasons over the last years, corruption just being one of them.

Double Standards

When Michel Platini became head of UEFA 5 years ago it was a ray of light and hope for Europe’s governing football organization. However, things have changed and the image has suffered remarkably in the last two weeks since Euro 2012 has started. Most notably because of the punishments and fines which were handed out to several national Football Associations.
