That West Ham will not take over the Olympic Stadium after the London 2012 Games for free any more. The plan is that the stadium remains in public hands while the football club could use it for their games but have to pay an annual rent. That would enable London to bid for the 2017 Athletics World Championships to be hold there. The move is applaud-able because the stadium is being built using public money and costing around
