Scoring a decisive goal in a final of any tournament is an achievement that goes beyond the sporting sphere. The most recent example is Arjen Robben’s late winner against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final at Wembley. Not just did it win Bayern the game but also removed the loser tag, attached to the club for some time. It further helped to overcome the psychological burden of last year’s failure against Chelsea in their own ground. However, Mandzukic and Robben only scored a goal each in an exciting game.
