The Rest of Leipzig

Given the outcry of football fans about the relocation of their clubs, especially that of Wimbledon in 2002, a ground move or even the change of club colours it is useful to have a look at East German soccer history where teams have been re-located in regular intervalls, decided by the communist regime. The East German city of Leipzig has been split between 2 clubs: 1. FC Lokomotive and BSG Chemie. The division goes back to the 1960s when both clubs were found in the top half of the table. However for a short time at least, BSG Chemie had the last laugh.
